The Word Among Us reflected, "The heart of this feast is not a solution to a mathematical puzzle of how God could be three in one. Rather, it's a divine mystery, that our God loves us and longs to reveal himself to us in three divine persons" - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
These are difficult times. Lately, I feel I am reflecting on the same thing because not much has changed for those of us who live in New York City. We are still staying in our homes and schools and businesses have not reopened. Adding on to the situation, is a fight for justice and equality with days and nights of protests - some peaceful and some destructive. We are left wondering if the CoronaVirus numbers will spike up with people out demonstrating. Will we be able to enjoy the regular summer activities or vacation with my friends and family? And of course, will school be open in September?
The future is a mystery like some of the doctrines of our faith such as the belief in the Holy Trinity. There is no simple way to solve these problems and/or find answers. Some of the answers might be found in today's second reading by St. Paul, "Brothers and sisters, rejoice. Mend your ways, encourage one another, agree with one another, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you." (2 Corinthians 13:11)
Peace,
Ms. Danielle Gonzalez
